Richmond Football Club Punt Road Oval
Multipurpose sports facility that combines high performance training, treatment and recovery, education, workplace and retail components.
The Punt Road Oval redevelopment for Richmond Football Club is an elite, multipurpose sports facility that combines high performance training, treatment and recovery, education, workplace and retail components.
ARCH's concept balances the requirements of an elite level training facility and fosters public and community participation. Consequently the facility is designed to be visually permeable to enable fans to catch a glimpse of their team in preparation. ARCH's expert understanding of elite level performance and business requirements ensures the facility is carefully planned within a constricted site to provide appropriate adjacencies between key functional areas.
At ground level, the indoor training centre integrates with the new strength and conditioning gymnasium. Workplace accommodation for personnel is located between the gymnasium and recovery pools. The first floor includes a theatrette for training and media events. The Korin Gamadji Institute on level two is designed to support training programs for indigenous youth, VET courses and skills training.
