Highgate Football Pavilion
Extended flexibility for different levels of use, adapting to the needs of both elite players and local competition
This new football club facility is the home to local and national football clubs. We designed the new club facilities, incorporating a gymnasium, medical areas, locker rooms, umpire change areas and a social club. In addition, the design incorporates facilities for television coverage.
The grandstand accommodates 200 seated spectators. The conceptual framework takes elements from a typical country football game: cars parked around the boundary, supporters yelling from the boots of their cars and makeshift grandstands.
In line with our client’s brief, our design developed a planning model that offers extended flexibility for different levels of use, adapting to the needs of both elite players and local competition. Planning for the wider precinct includes controlled access and egress to the grandstand and facilities, especially important on match days.
