Gold Coast
Private Hospital

Features include extensive visual connectivity to landscaped courtyards for improved patient health and wellbeing

Warm and welcoming aren’t two words usually used to describe hospitals. However, patients at the Gold Coast Private Hospital (GCPH) enjoy an atmosphere more like a boutique hotel than a healthcare facility.

Research clearly indicates the health benefits of access to daylight and leafy views. ARCH places patient care at the heart of its design. Respite spaces have been carefully located and crafted to ensure relaxation aids wellbeing for all users.

Stage 1 opened in March 2016, the new facility had 264 hospital beds with capacity to expand to 350; 13 operating theatres and an Emergency Department. ARCH worked closely with Healthscope on a fast track delivery program to deliver this first stage within a three year time frame. Stage 2 of the GCPH was completed at the beginning of 2018, providing a new 6 theatre Day Surgery Unit, 6 additional operating suites and a futher 60 beds. The Stage 2 works were built over the fully operational Renal Department, occupied wards and adjacent to the existing operating theatres.

The project now also includes a further staged extension and reconfiguration of the existing CSSD Department.
