Eric Tweedale Stadium

Award winning form and function prioritises sustainability

Eric Tweedale Stadium is a community sports pavilion for Cumberland City Council. It includes a new building, a grandstand, an upgraded car park, and a new rugby league playing field.

The facility has been designed with the best practice principles of sustainability and simple form which will seamlessly blend into the existing Granville Park and surrounding neighbourhood. Best practice sustainability includes building fabric, including glulam and CLT timber construction,  glazing performance, solar renewable energy and naturally ventilated spaces.

The impressive glulam timber roof structure of the Eric Tweedale Stadium stands as a testament to exceptional design, demonstrating an extraordinary level of thought and expertise. Splayed rafters supported on glulam timber columns have been designed to blend into the existing tree canopy and open onto the new pitch.
