Tempus Two Winery
Blending tradition with contemporary innovation
ARCH was commissioned to design a new winery at Pokolbin for McGuigan’s Tempus II label.
Tempus Two’s roots are firmly planted in one of Australia’s oldest wine regions, the Hunter Valley. The design brief required a building that sits "softly" in the landscape, yet be significant enough to be an iconic destination winery. Set among the rolling green vineyards of Pokolbin, the architecture reflects the Tempus Two spirit blending tradition with contemporary innovation.
The Tempus Two complex houses wine making facilities, cellar door and bars, restaurants and a market hall. An expansive outdoor area, including a grassed amphitheatre, provides an additional entertaining space between the winery and the vines, celebrating clean, refined elegance. Pewter entry doors, reflecting the brand’s iconic labels, mark the arrival at a modern interpretation of the simple country shed. It’s a place for casual or group wine tastings and, when the lights go down, an inspired place for music and events held in the amphitheatre.
