Moe Place Early Learning Centre

Environmental initiatives include water saving and reuse, natural ventilation, materials selections and night purging of hot air

Moe Place serves a variety of community needs within one integrated facility.

ARCH designed this new fully integrated early learning centre and community hub to incorporate a 120 place child care program, as well as providing educational space for the adjacent South Street Primary School.

The Early Learning Centre has six rooms for children from 0 to 5 years and Maternal & Child Health Consulting suites are located close by. The building also provides community meeting spaces, a toy library and generous function spaces. A multi-purpose recreation space with capability for indoor sports and training (basketball, netball, volleyball, and badminton), function space, performing arts for local school use is also provided.

Directly linked to this space are a community kitchen, school music classroom and ancillary spaces. Environmental sustainability is considered with water saving and reuse, both within the building and in the landscape and a whole of life approach to building materials. Energy reduction is achieved with natural lighting and cross ventilation for cooling and night purging of hot air and low energy fittings.
