Charles Darwin Centre

A sculpted sleek form for an iconic landmark

Paspaley Pearls puts Darwin on the map with their new 20-storey tower. The iconic lens-shaped building adds a unique sculptural form to Darwin’s skyline and maximises superb views of the waterfront setting.

ARCH collaborated with Pei Cobb Freed and Partners to design this $84 million office tower in Darwin by Pearl magnates the Paspaley family.

The Charles Darwin Centre, which was completed in 2015, is described as an iconic state-of-the-art building in the heart of the northern capital. Clad in prefinished metallic panels and high-performance glass with horizontal sunshades, the tower has achieved a five-star NABERS rating.
