Bundaberg Regional Aquatic Centre

State-of-the-art year round facility for elite athlete training

The Bundaberg Regional Aquatic Facility will be a state-of-the-art year round facility for elite athlete training, for those learning to swim and for remedial training for all community members. Designed to attract regional, national and even international events, the centre will be equipped with appropriate judging, timing and marshalling facilities as well as an elevated grandstand.

The facility includes a FINA standard ten lane 50m length 2m consistent depth pool with an adjustable bulkhead to accommodate multiple event formats, swimming, water polo, and underwater hockey.

The 50m pool is outdoor but fully covered. A FINA standard 25m long 6 lane pool of varying depths is within the pool hall accommodating competition, training, learn to swim and recreational activities.

In addition is a warm water program pool of varying depths to cater to elderly, learn to swim and recreational activities.

All pools enjoy a high level of accessibility for the Bundaberg community with ramp, lift and hoist options.

The design concept takes its cues from the iconic linear nature of aquatic environments, and includes references to the site's Showground history and the region's geological volcanic history.
